Don't just visit it. Live it.

Naples isn't a city you get to know through its monuments alone. You have to walk it, listen to it, taste it and let it surprise you.

Between an old palazzo and a craft shop, a hidden church and an espresso sipped standing at the counter, every street has a story to tell.

Gloves Rooms is a starting point for stepping into this authentic Naples and discovering some of its most fascinating places.

You can discover Naples at the table, too.

A stroll through the flavors of Neapolitan street food.

In Naples, food is part of the street, the neighborhoods and everyday life. Pizzerias, friggitorie (fried-food shops), pastry shops and small local stores keep alive flavors handed down through generations.

Sweet or savory, fried or fresh from the oven, Neapolitan street food goes hand in hand with a stroll through the historic center and becomes a way of getting to know the city in its own right.

Zendraglie displayed according to Neapolitan street tradition

History and popular culture

Zendraglie

An ancient name, a story of working-class Naples.

Zendraglie belong to the oldest tradition of Neapolitan working-class cooking. The term is traditionally traced back to Naples under Bourbon rule and has remained tied to the culture of humble street food.

Snout, trotters, offal and other cuts of beef and pork are prepared and boiled according to tradition, then served simply, usually with salt and lemon.

It is a cuisine born of thrift and necessity that, over time, has become a culinary testament to working-class Naples.

Naples is a feast for the eyes. But it is also remembered through its flavors.

Between a sfogliatella, a pizza folded like a wallet and a cuoppo still hot from the fryer, even a short break can become part of the journey.
